One of the more common data reports that we need to generate in financial aid is dividing our applicants into brackets using some type of range. For example, you may want to see how many students you are awarding grouped in brackets of income, and at the same time, grouped in brackets of financial aid award amounts. This is very easily done in a spreadsheet using a pivot table. If you are not familiar with this technique, you’ll find that this will save you so much time over doing it manually.
