Three years ago, Clarity started with a vision to bring innovation and efficiency to the private school community. 

At the 2021 Enrollment Management Association Annual Conference, co-founder and CEO Brennan Stark heard firsthand from admission directors about the burdens of an outdated financial aid process. The available processes ignited frustrations similar to those you might feel while dealing with the DMV, rather than providing the intuitive, seamless experiences we have come to expect from modern software. The need for a new solution was clear—there was a better way forward that could simplify the process for both schools and families.

Fast forward to today, and we’re celebrating the first 1,000 schools that have joined us on this mission to transform financial aid. Together, we've made it easier for families to discover, plan for, and access the best educational opportunities for their children.

The Clarity Way 

From the first school that helped shape the Clarity platform to our thousandth, Clarity has redefined how financial aid is reviewed, processed, and delivered in private K12 schools. Our philosophy, The Clarity Way, contains the six pillars that set us apart in how we approach the challenges that schools face. 

From automating IRS tax verification to improving financial aid reviews to offering the most comprehensive support in the industry for financial aid, we’ve continued to listen to the voices of schools and families, ensuring that Clarity evolves to meet their needs.

Clarity By The Numbers

Since launching, Clarity has processed over 137,000 financial aid applications, saving families about one hour per application. That’s more than 137,000 hours families have gotten back to spend living their lives instead of navigating tax forms. To put that into perspective, those hours are enough to:

• Share 45,771 family movie nights
• Watch 68,656 sports matches from the sidelines
• Take 2,288 cross-country family road trips

These hours allow families to focus on what truly matters: spending quality time with loved ones, making memories, and enjoying life without the burden of paperwork.

Looking Ahead to What’s Next 

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re also looking ahead at the work still to be done. One of the most common questions we’ve been asked since launching Clarity’s Financial Aid is: what’s next?

This year, we embarked on a listening tour to find the answer. We heard the challenges that schools face loud and clear, and when one key area echoed loudest, we knew what we needed to build. In alignment with our mission to guide, support, and empower, we’ve introduced Clarity Contracts and Clarity Billing.

Just as we simplified financial aid for schools, we’re committed to doing the same for contracts and billing—streamlining workflows, reducing errors, and creating a better experience for families and schools.
